What we do
The Systems & Solutions Group (SSG) of Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) in Information Technology Services provides the services below for University divisions.
Cloud
We have identified three key service offerings to best support the business needs of the University of Toronto community:

- Landing zone – implementation & managed
- Platform as a Service (PaaS)

Linux & Windows
We provide support for Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as virtual machines in the ITS Private Cloud.
Client & non-client services
For clients, we are the gateway to all ITS services and we perform all requests internally on your behalf to streamline your IT support experience.
For non-clients, we are always happy to consult on your system support needs and provide guidance on next steps. New clients are always welcome!

Virtual machine
- Our fee structure for 2023 – 2025 is outlined in the virtual machine (VM) pricing key below.
- Use the virtual machine cost calculator to get an estimate of the base VM pricing.

VM pricing summary:
- Clients pay an additional $2,500/per VM/per year for support including server monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, certificates, firewalls, security, etc.
- Backup cost is not included in this pricing.
- Our pricing includes bandwidth free of charge.
- Our rates are competitive with public cloud hosting solutions, especially when associated costs including bandwidth are factored in.
- The “storage tier” can be selected when virtual machines are created (note: iSCSI storage must be arranged by special request and cannot be selected as an option).

Monthly billing
- Debit memos or invoices are issued on the first of the month, and capture all usage costs incurred in the month prior, including a percentage of the annual system support fee.
- Debit memos are issued on behalf of the SSG by the ITS Private Cloud group, a team within EIS.
