Participants will be introduced to the concepts and principles of universal design, provided with guidance on what spaces, built and not, universal design has been applied, and given advice on what aspects of university administration and services can be designed using this concept.
In this talk, Catherine Stinson will examine the rise of benchmark datasets in AI, such as ImageNet, and their role in advancing deep learning, critiquing the overly enthusiastic embrace of benchmarks as a harmful practice that can distort research incentives.
